SPIDER CLOTHING CO. began as a two-person pattern table in a Brooklyn basement. We still work the same way: draft, cut, sew, wear it for a month, then cut it again.
In 2019 two pattern cutters shared a basement table, a domestic machine, and one roll of heavyweight fleece. The first hoodie took eleven drafts and four months. We sold thirty of them to people we knew.
Seven years later the table is bigger and the machines are industrial, but nothing else about the process has changed. We still draft in paper, still wear every sample for a month before it’s approved, and still cap runs at 200 units so that we can inspect every single garment before it ships.
Every fabric comes from a mill we’ve walked. Every graphic is hand-pulled in the studio. What we can’t make well, we don’t make.t make well, we don’t make.

/ Quality commitment
Eleven drafts minimum
No pattern goes to production until it has survived a month of real wear in at least eleven revisions.
Mills we’ve walked
We visit every mill before we buy. We check machine maintenance, water handling in the dye house, and how floor staff are treated.
Heavier than it needs to be
480gsm fleece, 240gsm jersey, 18oz canvas. Weight is the cheapest form of longevity.
Numbered, never restocked
Each garment carries a stitched number and production month. When a run sells through, it’s gone.
Repair before replace
Send us a blown seam or failed zip within two years and we’ll repair it at cost, shipping included.
No seasonal filler
Four drops a year. If we can’t make it better than what already exists, we don’t make it.
Every piece numbered
